Drawing and Painting the Tuscan Landscape

In this two-week intensive course, Shane Wolf - instructor at the Angel Academy of Art, Florence, and two-time Fellow of the Hudson River Fellowship - will guide and accompany students through the landscape painting process, with a particular focus on traditional practices used by the Hudson River School painters. Students will spend the day on various beautiful locations, working directly from nature, rain or shine, in the company of the instructor. The workshop incorporates an introductory lecture, information on composition and color theory in nature, and various oil painting and drawing demonstrations.

Pioneers such as Leonardo and Dürer demonstrated the importance of the study of nature, spending time in the pursuit of the understanding of nature's form, structure and beauty. Their methods have inspired generations of landscape painters, including Thomas Cole, Frederick Church, Albert Bierstadt and many others. The Angel Academy of Art is offering a guided opportunity to work in the same spirit, drawing and painting the eternal allure of the Tuscan Landscape.

Please note that some locations will require a fair amount of walking while carrying your painting equipment.

Class times: Monday to Friday 9.00am to 12.00pm and 4.00pm to 7.00pm.

Early reservations are recommended, as student numbers are purposely limited to allow for a high degree of individual attention.

The cost of some of the materials are included in the fee. Other materials, however, are to be supplied by the student. A materials list will be provided upon registration.

Workshop Fee: Euro 1400.00
To Register: A non-refundable registration fee of Euro 500.00 is required at the time of booking, and is payable by PayPal, bank cheque or bank draft.
Final Payment: Balance of payment of Euro 900.00 should be received no later than 1st May, 2010.

Cancellation Policy: No refunds given.
Conditions: A full refund will be given in the event that the Angel Academy should, for whatever reason, need to cancel the course.
The fee covers 10 days tuition (60 hours of studio time, including lectures), but does not cover accommodation, airfare, transportation or any other expenses.
