The Angel Academy of Art, Florence, offers an intensive programme in classical drawing and painting. One of the very few such institutions in the world, the Academy offers a curriculum designed to produce the highest calibre of professional artists, equipped to be leaders in the emerging renaissance of classical, realist painting. The school's recently renovated studios are situated on the ground floor of a 16th century Florentine palazzo, offering plenty of space and light and are just a short walk from Florence's famous cathedral. The area offers an abundance of cafés, bookshops and local markets and is well serviced by local transport. Classes are in session Monday through Friday, leaving the weekends free for students to complete home assignments and to visit the local museums and art galleries, the majority of which are located in the historical center of town, easily accessible on foot.
